OMG!
I BOUGHT MY FIRST HOME ON WEDNESDAY!!

Mike and I signed our builder's contract and you are now looking at a first time home owner! man .. i am super psyched! so very very very EXCITED! i cant wait to move in (not till early next year) coz this is new construction and of course, we ourselves dont want to move in until late next year anyways .. but holy crap man! HOUSIE! HOUSIE! HOUSIE!

so, anyways .. this is the model of my house to be, but with these upgrades:

1. 3 car garage, with a 5 foot extension (which bumps the garage outwards 5 feet, so it looks super awesome, not flush with the front door, therefore giving it more definition)
2. full basement (the house is 2600sq ft. the full basement adds on another 1031 sq ft to it - my house is going to be HUGE!)
3. fireplace in the corner of the family room... havent decided if we wanted stone, brick, or any at all..
4. 7 foot half wall separating the living and family room
5. the whirljet tub and shower in the master bathroom, with a 4x4 window right above the whirljet tub
6. ceiling fan in the family room
7. brick facade around the front door
8. nice stonite countertops with flush sink, and
9. maple trims

SUPER EXCITED! CANT FREAKING WAIT!!!! we even have the new house address ... woooooooooooooooooooooo

i was inducted into the phi kappa phi honor society tonight. i feel very special =) apparently not only do they pick the top 10% of the graduate class, they also picked them based on recommendations (something about honor and quality and learning .. blah blah blah..) so i guess wherever the committee got their recommendations, someone must have said something great about me. i didn't know anybody there except for one other grad student, and even then i didn't see him until later on. so i sat next to one dude, i think he is indian (?) maybe, and strike conversation - he is a philosophy major ... oi, nietzche, oits socrates .. hehe .. havent met too many of those philosophers lately..

anyway, i was chatting with tia the other night about our past lives and somehow we talked about our fashion sense (actually it had something to do with bullying, but we ended up talking about fashion instead) .. and i must say, i totally forgot what horrendous styling i have back then. when i was 12, i had none. i picked up whatever clothing items my mom tossed in my direction. so on the first day at school, i thought it would be nice to wear this new pant suit that my mother had given me. now, when i say "pant suit" i dont mean those interview type. its just a top and bottom that somewhat matches. so, this wonderful hand-me-down pant suit was ivory-ish in color (shirt and pants). now, not too bad right .. i mean, ivory or off white or cream, is a pretty decent color. ok, so in the very middle of the shirt, is a very BIG flower bouquet pattern. the colors are vivid pink, blue and red and the flower outlines were lined with shiny, silver thread. and to top THAT off, on the left thigh of the pants, was the exact same bouquet, but smaller in proportions. now ... imagine a 12 year old foreign kid entering your classroom one monday morning. she walks in with this colorful (and ghastly!) pant suit on, a big gray trenchcoat that has wool lining, and carrying a big red lunchbox with some piggy pictures on the front..... wouldnt you WANT to bully the living daylights out of her!!!!

hehe ..

oh, what a great memory.. as horrible as the pantsuit was, i must have not have a care in the world about what i looked like ...

yeah, its been a while. i have been careless at updating this and for good reason. life, has taken on a very interesting path, one which has led me into the deep trenches of hecticdom.

first of all, let me just tell you that i have been thrown into a lot of wedding plannings, and thats simply because we have moved the date up from september to june. and to top that off, graduation ALSO takes place in june (try, a week before the wedding), AND i had to make arrangement for the family to come over. so lets see shall we: wedding planning, graduation planning, AND family-gathering bonanza all in one! talk about major life changing events...

second of all, school has decided to be a bitch, lumping all sorts of homework atop my shoulders, with stacks of papers and case studies to read and summarize. totally not cool! i cant wait to get done with classes this quarter - it will be so much more interesting to do something less .. case-worky ..

my car is currently sitting in the toyota dealership's garage, waiting for me to pick it up! i walked by and the salesman that we have been dealing with waved at me, and told me that the car has arrived. by next saturday, i should be driving and cruising around E-town.. getting used to the roads and stuff.. and yeah, i FINALLY lugged my fat ass over to the DMV to get my drivers license, so ... one less thing to worry about.

thats all the update for now. am still waiting for the UPE invite.
