you know what, the amount of stressing out and dreading the ceremony, PLUS freaking out about a downpayment on the first house is making me NOT look forward to the wedding. i think i want to elope. and elope as far away i can from this horrendous nightmare!

maybe i should do it in vegas =)

ok ...

i have told half a parent that i am engaged (the harder one), who took it remarkably well and totally changed my point of view of my parents. i am oh-so-lucky! now i gotta wait for the other parent to come back home from her wonderful journey and break the news. now, hopefully, i have predicted the right parent to tell first, coz you know, its always easier to break the news to the worst person .. it would be HORRIBLE if i was wrong this time .. hehehe

in any case, planning has been formally commenced. i received, in the mail, my first wedding item (besides the booking of the ceremony) - my 27exp disposable camera for each table at the reception! i JUST ordered these on monday because they were on sale for super cheap, and thought i might as well get in on them before they go up in price ... and lo and behold the box of things was chilling on my doorstep when i got home this afternoon. they look nice - its your typical 'wedding-looking' disposable camera =)

my friend-cum-wedding-planner called me today to briefly go over things that i need to start thinking about for the wedding. and holy crap, i missed a LOT of things man .. sheesh .. so things to start thinking about based on booking dates:

1. officiant - some justice of peace dude, know anyone?
2. 'save the date' card to announce the engagement. which means i need everyones addresses. buh
3. search hard for photographers and videographers coz they need to be free on the date i want them to come
4. wedding invites - since i am making these myself, it's gonna be cheap labor aka mine
5. wedding program (not sure why i need one of these but she said i did, so ok)
6. look through more caterers and then in a month or two schedule a tasting appointment
7. figure out which places rent out tiki torches
8. oh, yeah .. the clothes
9. color theme (i think this is sposed to be the prerequisite to all points above coz without this, i cant plan on reserving ANYTHING)
10. wholesale flowers
11. party favors
12. decor - which means i have to take pictures of the garden and mikes parents backyard. simply wonderful

so much planning .. so little money .. hehe .. i should ask the parents for contributions.

im ENGAGED!!!!!!! =)

id have to tell you the story, its quite a funny/cute one. we were having dinner (mmm egg salad sandwich) when all of a sudden, he asked me to put my left hand out. then he cheekily slipped on this ring-shaped hot pepper onto my finger, and asked me if id marry him! a little bit confused and utterly amused at what was on my finger, i said yes, okie!! (something of that nature) and then, he ate my ring off off my finger!!! hehehehe... you gotta love impromptu proposals, and coming from him, who is not usually a comical character, is kinda cute.

i suppose i might have baited him into doing it, coz i just HAD to reserve a spot for the ceremony at this place in elk grove called the garden terrace banquets (it was freaking cheap compared to the other places i called, so i wanted to make sure i dont lose the spot, and since when reserving you HAD to give a date and time, i made one up and ran it by him so that it wouldnt be too presumptuous)

but yeah!

i am somewhat grown up now!! =)

*omg*

didnt think that id see an even grosser picture than what ive already seen on the el, and i thought ive seen it all, but not until yesterday, did i realize that i havent! i was on the el going home, as per norm, and was busily occupying myself with reading, when i heard a noise alikened to water being emptied from a bottle... except it eeriely sounded like water being dropped into a toilet bowl. so i turned around and i saw this dirty lady, who had just finished relieving herself on the floor of the el from her seat, pulling her pants back on, and casually sat back on her chair. moments later, she picked herself up and went to sit at another chair, probably she herself couldnt bear the stench that is her own urine.

apparently, the lady had gotten up from an el slumber, decided she really needed to pee, pulled her pants down, and relieved herself without consideration for the man who was sitting across the aisle from her, or the woman that was sitting directly behind her, and for the rest of us, who could smell the stench of ammonia and got knows what else, a few minutes later! it was a pretty disgusting thing to encounter .... i suppose i should be grateful that she didnt decide to take a dump instead...

happy new year everybody! new year, new resolutions, i know, and i have plenty of those, but one that is quickly transpiring and materializing before my eyes (or at least in the making), is the opened-door that will ensure that dream house that i want!! wooo, go mortgage lender! so there is not a need to worry about my status of being a recent graduate.

anyhoo, first day back at school for both work and academic. nothing to do at work today, first day back is always slow, and class tonight wasnt too bad (im learning security this quarter), and then gymned it like a good girly. got that piece of good news from mike in the later afternoon, and oh boy, was he excited! =) how awesome is this - we are going to own a house!! ahhhh!!!
